The Lasker History Then & Now

What began as a beautiful home built by Mr. McLemore in 1870 progressed to become a Home for Homeless Children after the Great 1900 Storm when Morris Lasker donated the home for that purpose.  Children roamed the halls from 1900-1990.  The home then became home to Heritage Christian academy and later an elegant event venue.  The Lasker sat vacant for 4 years after Hurricane Ike until Richard and Linda Denson purchased the home and underwent renovations to restore it back to it's beauty and glory and on to share it with others as a Bed & Breakfast and event venue.

With an extensive background in historical restoration, Richard and Linda Denson saw the vision of sharing this grand Colonial Victorian with families, groups, couples, corporations and non profits. As an event venue and also as a elegant comfortable bed and breakfast, The Lasker has spacious elegant accommodations that custom tailor to every opportunity.  The Lasker Inn is exquisite and opulent, timeless and grand.

Lasker's own host Richard Conner  has officiated and hosted fabulous weddings and vip guests consistently delivering Five Star custom service, treating every guest as part of the royal Lasker family.  Richard's wedding and event planning and implementation is unparalleled.  Every detail is seamless and flawlessly attended to by the professional Lasker staff under the direction of the multitalented Richard Conner.

The most beautiful sunsets in the the southern United States are experienced here on our beloved sandbar known as Galveston Island.  Breathtaking views of the constellations can be absorbed on the Lasker's rooftop observation deck.   The ultimate hideway for that romantic dinner or proposal is Lasker's rooftop observation deck.
